Stephanie Caissie Scoular holds an Honours Psychology degree from McGill University (1998) and a Master’s degree in Psychology (Biopsychology) from UBC (2001). She began her career in 2001 in the field of mental health, prior to transitioning to providing/overseeing life skills interventions to individuals with moderate to severe traumatic brain injuries. This provided a grounding of experience in the use of compensatory strategies for addressing cognitive impairments and implementing behavioural management strategies.
Complex Injury Case Management
Returning to Ontario as a rehabilitation consultant/case manager in 2004, Ms. Caissie Scoular assesses rehabilitation needs and coordinates a multidisciplinary team of health professionals with the goal of promoting functional recovery for those with severe and complex injuries, including spinal cord injuries, amputations, moderate-severe brain injuries, and chronic/persistent conditions such as chronic pain, mental health disorders, and post-concussion syndrome.
Life Care Planning
In 2009, she completed her Life Care Planning training through the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University in Ottawa. Her experience in supporting many individuals with complex injuries, often over the span of several years, has given her a deep understanding of the normal course and trajectory of rehabilitation and the roles of each involved health professional, as well as the recovery outcomes that can be expected.
